Motorsports

Te Matai Motorsport Incorporated is currently developing exciting rallying circuits on the forestry road network as well as related facilities in the Park for car clubs. 

This area of the Park is for club members only.  Please see the User group’s page for contact details for Te Matai Motorsport Incorporated.  You’ll find a park map located at the Arrival Centre at the beginning of Whataroa Road, just inside the entrance to the Park.

There are no public toilets within this area of the Park.  Toilets are located at the Arrival Centre, and motorcycle car park for your convenience.

As well as motorsport facilities, four wheel drive facilities are currently being developed by user groups and club membership is available if you wish to be involved in their development.  Please contact the Bay of Plenty Four Wheel Drive Club for further information.

The membership of Te Matai Motorsport is currently made up of the following clubs: 

  • Motorsport Bay of Plenty Incorporated
  • Bay of Plenty Drag Racing Association
  • Bay of Plenty Radio Control Car Club
  • Bay of Plenty Speedway Association
  • Bay of Plenty Four Wheel Drive Club
  • Waikato Offroad Racing Club

The Bay of Plenty Radio Control Car Club have two tracks at the TECT All Terrain Park.  The club produced a You Tube video of their first race day on 8th April 2012.

There is to be no unauthorised target shooting in the Park.  Hunting is NOT PERMITTED anywhere within the Park boundaries.

There is currently no charge for use of the public facilities at the Park.

The Park main gate is closed at night and opened in daylight hours only.  Summer hours are from 7am to 9pm, including Labour Weekend to Easter.  Winter hours are from 8am to 5pm.
