Motorcycling

While full motorcycling facilities are still currently being developed, casual motorcycling opportunities are ready and available for use in the TECT All Terrain Park.

For casual motorcycling, the following tracks are now operational in the park:

  • Short Family Track – 200m and open area for beginners
  • Intermediate Track – approximately 1.5km return, easy for beginners
  • Advanced Track — approximately 2.2km return, easy for intermediate level riders

So that you can navigate your way around the park and pinpoint motorcycling related facilities better, there is a park map located at the Arrival Centre at the beginning of Whataroa Road, just inside the entrance to the park.

Public toilets are located at the motorcycle car park and the Arrival Centre for your convenience.

Motorsport, four wheel drive and target shooting facilities are currently being developed by user groups and club membership is available if you wish to be involved in their development.  Alternatively you could contact the Tauranga Motorcycle Club directly.

There is to be no unauthorised target shooting in the park. Hunting is NOT PERMITTED anywhere within the park boundaries.

There is currently no charge for use of the park.

The Park main gate is closed at night and opened in daylight hours only.  Summer hours are from 7am to 9pm, including Labour Weekend to Easter.  Winter hours are from 8am to 5pm.

For more information please contact the TECT All Terrain Park, on email tectpark@westernbay.govt.nz or telephone +64 (0)7 5718008.
