What you can do
NZ Deerstalkers Association – BoP Branch Limited, is a Tauranga based club that represents members interested in target shooting and hunting.
The group has now developed a member only 300m rifle range, the first of several ranges planned for the south western corner of the park off Ngawaro Road.
Central Television provided coverage of the Opening Day in February 2012:
For further information please visit their website NZ Deerstalkers Associated (BOP Branch) Inc. or email the club's webmaster. Their postal address is P O Box 3111, Greerton, Tauranga 3142. Details about the range, as well as copies of the last 6 months worth of club newsletters, are available on the website. Please check there first to find answers to most of the commonly requested information. The club's volunteer range officers host a public open day on the last Sunday of the month from 9am to 3pm (check schedule first - also can be weather dependent). This is open to the public, as well as existing members, for a day fee of $15.00 per person registered to shoot. Outside of these public open days the range is only available for club members, or for special organised events.
The Park is now operating under Winter Hours 8am - 5pm
Please note that the Park is relatively remote and the ranger is not always available to help, so plan your trip accordingly. Gates locked at night. No hunting allowed, anywhere, any time.
